Function
The industrial SHDSL switch «XSLAN» enables you to interconnect two IP networks over kilometers by using one or two simple voice-grade twisted pairs (telephone lines).

Data rate
Depending on line quality, distance and noise, the data rate adapts from 192 Kb/s to 2,3 Mb/s over one pair, or up to 4.6 Mb/s over two pairs.

Distance
At 256 kb/s, the distance can reach 13 Km if the line wire diameter is 0.9 mm, or 6,5 Km if the line wire diameter is 0.4 mm.

Demanding industrial applications
The XSLAN switch is made for demanding applications. Steel enclosure, large operating T° range ( -20 to+65°C), double power supply input, SNMP management and "no internal connector" electronic design, allow to install the XSLAN in almost any location.

IP routes & QoS to optimize the efficiency of the available bandwidth
The address field can be separated to avoid unnecessary data flow over the line, and the broadcast an multicast frames can be eliminated.
Moreover, the product provides quality of service functions (QoS) :
Switches can introduce latency in times of heavy network traffic due to the internal queues that buffer frames. XSLAN allows to give priority to critical applications. It allows priority classification by port, tags, MAC address, and IP type of service (TOS).

Models
The basic product provides four 10-100 bT RJ45 connectors.
Other models provide two 10-100 bT RJ45 in conjunction with one or two asynchronous interfaces.
