Leased line back-up The IA 512 inverse multiplexer is an ideal solution for backing up a leased line or handling excess traffic. If it is connected to a port on a frame-relay multiplexer, for example, it can reroute traffic via the ISDN if the leased line fails or is overloaded.
ISDN communication can be controlled with a DTR signal or by using synchronous V25 bis commands, for example. The IA 512 is compatible with most network devices - IP routers, frame-relay, X25 or TDM equipment, etc.

Radio link back-up
The IA 512 can also be used to back-up a radio link.

Central site back-up For computer systems, the IA 512 can be used to facilitate maintenance or for disaster recovery. If a given site is being maintained or has failed, an emergency site can take over via an ISDN connection and the inverse multiplexers.

Quality videoconferencing When connected to a videoconferencing Codec, the IA 512 will enable you to implement good quality videoconferencing with a 384 kbps data rate, for instance.
The BONDING synchronization standard it uses guarantees interoperability with most brands of inverse multiplexers and multipoint bridges.
Using an inverse multiplexer does not exclude communication with systems not fitted with inverse multiplexers.

Videoconference encryption Some videoconference systems include encryption to guarantee communication confidentiality.
In this case the encryption system connected to the codec outputs provides a V11 link at the appropriate data rate (128 or 256 kbps for example).
The inverse multiplexer transmits the data stream over the ISDN.
